Employment is an issue which worries most of the consumers, and this has lead to people expecting less gits. Not only are the consumers going to buy less gifts, but they are also going to spend less in food and decorations.
The consumer confidence index (CCI) has dropped from the figures of above 54 in august to below 54 in September, and the experts expect it to drop even more as we approach the Holidays.
Due to the fact that consumer spending makes the majority of the economic action of the US there is extreme monitoring of households done.
It remains to be seen if everyone is waiting for the sales after the Holidays to make their shopping.
